Win was no revenge mission - Boss

Mon 25 Feb, 02:32 PM

Blackpool manager Simon Grayson insists his side's 5-3 thrashing of Alan Pardew's Charlton on Saturday was not a revenge mission. The Addicks hammered Blackpool 4-1 at The Valley last month and Grayson branded the performance as possibly his side's worst of the season.

But the Seasiders outplayed and outscored the Addicks in a thrilling encounter at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

"To win 5-3 in any match is a brilliant result, regardless of who we are playing," said Grayson.

"But I know people will look at this and see we've turned over a team who were in the Premiership last season and probably be impressed - and we deserve that.

"It wasn't a case of revenge. It was just another game, another opportunity to try and win three points, and that's what we've done."
