Barcelona (home to Celtic on Tuesday)

Barcelona 5-1 Levante

Barcelona took full advantage of the confusion at the Bernabeu by thrashing lowly Levante 5-1 at the Nou Camp to close the gap on leaders Real Madrid to just two points.

Xavi and Lionel Messi scored either side of a Mustapha Riga penalty in the first half, before Samuel Eto'o went on to score a hat-trick after the break to pile on the misery for La Liga's bottom club.

Internazionale (home to Liverpool on Tuesday 11th March)

Sampdoria 1-1 Inter

Inter remain nine points clear at the top of Serie A after drawing 1-1 at Sampdoria.

Hernan Crespo grabbed only his third goal of the season with a header in the second half to rescue a point after Antonio Cassano had put Samp ahead 11 minutes earlier.

Olympiacos (away to Chelsea on Wednesday)

PAOK 1-1 Olimpiacos

Olimpiacos dropped to second in the Greek Super League as they drew 1-1 at PAOK and rivals Panathinaikos won their match.

Midfielder Gonzalez scored his first goal of the season after only two minutes to give the mid-table side the lead before Darko Kovacevic, the league's current top scorer, banged in his 15th of the campaign to salvage a point.

Milan (home to Arsenal on Tuesday)

Milan 2-1 Palermo

Milan completed their resurgence with a 2-1 win over Palermo at the San Siro that sees them overtake Fiorentina and claim fourth spot in the table.

Filipo Inzaghi scored a header in the 90th minute to give the Rossoneri a dramatic win, after Massimo Ambrosini had cancelled out Mark Bresciano's opener for the visitors.

Lyon (away to Manchester United on Tuesday)

Lyon 2-0 Metz

The French champions put an end to their miserable recent run of form by beating Metz 2-0 at home and opening a three-point gap over second-placed Bordeaux.

Brazil striker Fred scored both of the goals, combining with Karim Benzema for the first and chipping the ball over goalkeeper Christophe Marichez for the second.
