Brentford manager Andy Scott believes that Chesterfield used time-wasting tactics to hep secure their 1-0 win at the Recreation Ground.
Resurgent Brentford suffered their first defeat in ten matches due to David Dowson's fourth-minute goal, but Scott was left frustrated by the home by the Spireites' ball-boys as his side went in search of an equaliser.
"They realised they were 1-0 up, and knew we were going to come at them, so their ball-boys disappeared and went for a burger," Scott told BBC London.
"The ball was going in the stand and the ball-boys weren't throwing the balls to our players."
Defeats for Rochdale and Morecambe mean that Chesterfield leapfrog both sides and move into eighth place, just six points off a play-off spot.
