City feeling the pressure - Johnson

Tue 25 Mar, 07:30 PM

Gary Johnson admits his Bristol City side are feeling the pressure - and he knows it is up to him to find the players that have the nerve. The Robins remain second in the Championship despite back-to-back defeats and no win in their last five matches.

Johnson insists his team selection for the remaining six games will determine whether City make it to the Premier League.

"We are feeling the pressure, but then so are West Brom, Watford and Stoke," said Johnson. "It is something I have to deal with. It comes down to characters and personalities and which of them can get their game going under this amount of pressure.

"Some of them will and some of them won't. It is up to me to find the ones who will. We need to get the selection right between now and the end of the season and go with those lads who can actually handle the pressure. I think we have enough lads who can do that.

"We are an honest bunch and we always hold our hands up when we have not turned up. I have to look at that in readiness for the last six games."
