Chester manager Simon Davies praised the togetherness of his side after their 1-0 defeat at London Road against promotion-chasing Peterborough.City belied thier recent slump in form and produced a decent display at London Road only for Dean Keates to score the only goal of the game 19 minutes from time.
Defeat was City's fourth straight away loss, but Davies preferred to focus on the positives as attentions now switch to Saturday's home clash with Stockport.
"We came to defend and played very well collectively, and in the end we conceded to one of the chances I didn't expect to go in," said Davies.
"We were always going to find it hard, but I thought we put on a performance, stuck together, and nearly got something out of it."
The Blues' day began in calamity when their team coach broke down on the way to Peterborough, but they almost left with an unlikely draw after Shaun Kelly missed a great late chance. Davies added: "We were only a couple of miles away when the bus broke down but a supporters coach came past and picked us all up."
