Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson appealed for patience after his side shrugged off struggling Chester 1-0 to remain on course for promotion.Ferguson's men squandered a host of great chances before midfielder Dean Keates finally broke through in the 71st minute.
Posh are now nine points clear of fourth-placed Darlington and remain level on points with leaders MK Dons.
Ferguson said: "We should have won by far more than one goal. It would have been a very different game had Aaron Mclean took a simple chance after two minutes.
"We made life much harder for ourselves than necessary but we are another step closer to promotion.
"I'm not having a go at the fans but they do need to be more patient at times. We have got to enjoy being in the position we are."
