Burnley winger Kyle Lafferty hopes to shake off a dead leg in time to play for Northern Ireland against Georgia at Windsor Park on Wednesday.Nigel Worthington's men will be aiming to win for the first time since narrowly missing out on Euro 2008 qualification.
A disappointing friendly defeat to Bulgaria last month did little to inspire confidence but Lafferty is aiming to shrug off the injury he sustained in Burnley's defeat to Preston on Saturday to take his place alongside David Healy in attack.
"I got a bit of a knock at the weekend but I always wanted to join up with the rest of the lads," said Lafferty. "A few lads have had to pull out of the squad but that will give a few others a chance to impress.
"Our last performance wasn't great but I'm sure the fans will be behind us as always on Wednesday and hopefully we'll repay that faith with a win."
