Jim Magilton is hopeful of signing "at least one player" before Thursday's loan deadline as he bids to bolster his injury-hit Ipswich squad. The Tractor Boys have been hit by injuries and suspensions in recent weeks and although Shefki Kuqi is set to return to training this week, Jon Walters faces six weeks on the sidelines following a cartilage operation while Richard Naylor is likely to miss the rest of the season.
Magilton will also be without striker Pablo Counago who faces a three-match suspension following his red card on Saturday and revealed he was less than happy about the incident.
"I'm still hopeful of getting in at least one player and maybe two. We are looking for a front player and a defender," said Magilton.
He said: "Pablo's red card obviously didn't help us and I will deal with it internally. I will find out what happened and deal with it accordingly. It was irresponsible at the very least."
