Liam Ridgewell reckons a team other than Birmingham, Fulham or Bolton could yet get dragged back into the fight to avoid relegation this term.With Derby already doomed to be playing Championship football next season, the general consensus appears to be that the fight to avoid finishing in the final two relegation places will be between Birmingham, Fulham and Bolton.
Despite seeing fellow strugglers Reading pick up an invaluable 2-1 victory over Blues on Saturday to move them clear of the bottom three, Ridgewell is adamant that the skirmishes at the bottom are not that clear cut.
"Those teams who got the results on Saturday obviously think that they're safe," he said. "We've just got to keep dragging them back down with us.
"Reading got the win and that pushed them a little bit up.
"But knowing what it's been like this season, no team down there is safe and I think they will still be looking over their shoulders.
"If we get a couple of good results then everyone is back in it and it's alive again. That's what we've got to try and do, go for the wins.
"I don't know if you can say (it's two from three to be relegated), it's too early," added Ridgewell.
"There are still a lot of teams in it. All it takes is a couple of wins, and then you are in mid-table.
"So, we have got to take that into account and be positive.
"There are still seven games left and plenty of points to play for."
The former Aston Villa man also revealed that he takes no notice of the fixtures facing the sides around them, and instead prefers to remain solely focused on ensuring that there will be Premier League football played at St Andrews next year.
"I don't look at that," he said. "I just go out and play my football.
"As long as we are out of that bottom three then I don't care if it's on goal difference to be honest, just as long as we are out of that bottom three.
"The games are getting more important as we're closing to an end.
"We will definitely be fighting all the way, it won't be for a want of trying."
