Scott wants Bees to up the tempo

Tue 25 Mar, 02:00 PM

Brentford manager Andy Scott hailed his players for responding well following a half-time talking to after their 2-1 victory over Grimsby.Second-half goals from Alan Connell and Wayne Brown saw the Bees deservedly take the points after Danny North had given Grimsby a 19th-minute lead.

Scott said: "The first half was awful. We said that as they had a Wembley trip coming up we had to start well, but we did not set the right tempo.

"We played it like a practice game in the first 10 minutes and they played it like they were at Wembley. But in the last 30 minutes we played like we were at Wembley.

"There were a few choice words said at half time. They responded ever so well, which is great.

"When we pass the ball we are a match for anyone. But we can't keep doing it for just 45 minutes. We got away with it today."
