Williams bemoans injury crisis

Tue 25 Mar, 03:30 PM

Colchester boss Geraint Williams has pointed the finger at his side's growing treatment room troubles as the reason for their poor run of form. The weekend's 5-1 defeat against Norwich was the joint-heaviest defeat of Williams' reign so far at Layer Road and the Welshman conceded that the run of seven defeats in his side's last eight games visibly got to his players at the weekend.

He told the club's official website: "It's probably the case that the games we have played have caught up with us and, when you're on the kind of run we are at the moment, it is probably a case of tired minds as well as tired bodies.

"We have 11 senior players out at the moment which makes it harder to freshen things up but we will keep going as there is still pride to play for."
