Wilson believes in Pools quality

Tue 25 Mar, 11:30 AM

Hartlepool manager Danny Wilson wants his side to take their dominant display in their win over Yeovil into the remaining games of the season.Pools ended any lingering relegation worries as goals from James Brown and Joel Porter secured a 2-0 win, and although Yeovil substitute Marvin Williams hit the post in added time, the visitors were never in the game.

"We got a bit lucky at the end when they hit the post. But that was one of the few chances they created and I'm just as pleased with the clean sheet as I am with the result," said Wilson.

"This shows that if we play to our strengths, we will win games. If we defend well, we have the players who can attack teams, cause them problems, and score goals.

"Ben Clark and Michael Nelson did well at the back to keep players like Lloyd Owusu quiet, and when we get the ball forward we will always worry opposing teams. That is something we have to do for the rest of this season, and next season."

Wilson, meanwhile, is anxiously awaiting news on Sam Collins (possible cracked ribs) and Richard Barker (hamstring) after the duo sustained injuries against the Glovers.
