This afternoon's meeting at Sedgefield is subject to a further inspection at 10am.

Clerk of the course Charlie Moore and his team had a precautionary look at 8.30am after a cold night in the north-east.

And while conditions are improving, they thought it prudent just to make sure at 10am.

"We are going to have another look at 10am," said Moore.

"The temperature is above freezing now and we have bright blue sky, it is improving all the time.

"We are very hopeful."
