Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has revealed his aim is to emulate the achievements of France legend Zinedine Zidane.

France winger Ribery has set the Bundesliga alight in his first season in Germany and is on track to claim a league and cup double.

And he has set his sights on equalling the achievements of his old France team-mate, who won the World Cup and European Championships as well as countless club honours with Juventus and Real Madrid.

Ribery told Welt Online: "He was a great player, perhaps the greatest of all.

"I will definitely try to achieve in sport what he has achieved."

Ribery and Zidane starred alongside each other in the French team that reached the 2006 World Cup final before losing to Italy on penalties.

Ribery moved from French side Marseille to German giants Bayern in the summer of 2007, and has been in scintillating form as the Bavarian club have opened up a seven-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga and reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup.
