Same again for Cobblers chief

Fri 25 Apr, 12:00 PM

Northampton Town manager Stuart Gray has an almost fully-fit squad available for the League One trip to relegated Port Vale on Saturday.Captain Chris Doig has returned from his long-term hamstring injury without any problems in the last two games and will again partner Gabor Gyepes at the back.

Top scorer Poul Hubertz should continue up front despite being told this week that he will not be offered a contract to stay at Sixfields next season.

Ryan Gilligan has been offered a deal and will continue in midfield while Joe Burnell - who will be released - was left out of the 16 for last weekend's 2-0 win over Oldham and could again miss out.

Gray is keen for his side to finish as high up the league as possible to aid his summer pursuit of strikers and the Cobblers could claim a top-eight finish with two wins.

Defender Mark Hughes has been ruled out until pre-season training in July with a thigh injury but Liam Dolman has overcome a hamstring problem and will be involved, while on-loan winger Jonathan Hayes has returned to Leicester after suffering ankle ligament damage.
