QPR boss Luigi De Canio is hoping teenage star Angelo Balanta will be the first of many youngsters to come through the Loftus Road ranks.Colombian-born Balanta, 17, has breezed into the Rangers first team over the second half of the season and looks set to keep his place in attack at Norwich this weekend.

Rangers have this week also offered first professional contracts to Danny McGuire, Romone Rose, Matt O'Brien, Reece Crowther, Josh Ford and Chris Arthur, with De Canio paying tribute to the youth coaches for their impressive output.

"Angelo is an excellent player," said De Canio. "He does want to learn and puts in a lot of effort.

"This has to go to the credit of the youth coaches who have worked with him."
