Pardew turns to young duo

Alan Pardew is ready to throw youngsters Jonjo Shelvey and Scott Wagstaff into his Charlton squad for the trip to Barnsley.Pardew is ringing the changes after his side's play-off hopes were extinguished by the defeat at QPR last week.

Midfielder Shelvey would become Charlton's youngest player, aged 16 years 59 days, if he gets on while winger Wagstaff, 18, is also in line to make his debut.

Leroy Lita and Lee Cook have left the Valley after their recent loan spells and Zheng Zhi is doubtful with a groin injury while Lloyd Sam (thigh) and Jerome Thomas (hamstring) are still out.

Yassin Moutaouakil is suspended and fellow defender Sam Sodje is still on the sidelines with a dislocated toe.
