Spireites pair miss Macc clash

Fri 25 Apr, 01:30 PM

Peter Leven and Jack Lester will miss Chesterfield's game at Macclesfield as they go through the motions after missing out on the play-offs.Midfielder Leven is nursing a knee injury after colliding with the referee during last week's 1-1 draw against Darlington, a result that ended the Spireites chances of reaching the play-offs.

Top scorer Lester returned from a month out with a broken nose as a second-half substitute in that game.

The 26-goal striker has been suffering with restricted breathing again this week and is set for a minor operation to solve the problem.

He could be available for the final game of the season against Notts County at Saltergate.

Midfielder Jamie Winter is a doubt after he did not train on Thursday due to illness.
