Steve Coppell insists he has not spent any time poring over the end-of-season run-ins of Reading's relegation rivals.
Coppell's side will kick off at Wigan on Saturday just a single Barclays Premier League point ahead of third-bottom Birmingham, who host Liverpool.
The Royals are also level on points with Bolton, who visit Tottenham, while the table also shows Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Wigan are not safe either.
Bolton must travel to Chelsea on the last day, while Wigan take on Manchester United but Coppell was adamant his only concern was his side's final three fixtures, which include a home game with Spurs and a trip to already-relegated Derby.
He said: "I haven't looked at anyone's fixtures yet. I did that once many years ago and we got relegated with 49 points so I gave that up."
That was back in 1993 when Coppell's Crystal Palace side were over-taken by Oldham on the final day but Coppell was aware Wigan would be aiming for nothing less than three points from Saturday's clash.
He said: "Somebody told me Wigan have two difficult games after us so they are very much looking at us as being their means of getting away from everything."
Reading have not scored a goal in their last four games and although last week's 2-0 defeat at Arsenal pushed them to the brink of the drop zone, it was the home loss by the same scoreline to fellow strugglers Fulham caused the most damage.
Reading had kicked off knowing victory would have put them on the brink of safety but failed to put in anything like a good enough performance.
Coppell said: "The Fulham game was the one where everyone was saying 'win this one and you will be all right'. But sometimes the more you need to do something, the less creative you are.
"We have to perform before we can even think of the consequences. We have to concentrate on our performance on the day and forget about 'what ifs'.
"That may have been our downfall against Fulham, where it was very much 'if we win this one then this will happen' and the winning process went out the window.
"The winning process is what it is all about. Perform well and you will get good results; if you don't, you won't."
Defender Nicky Shorey and midfielder Stephen Hunt are hoping for recalls after being left out at Arsenal but winger Jimmy Kebe, who took a knock at the Emirates Stadium, is unlikely to feature.
