Sam Stosur and Jelena Dokic have given Australia a 2-0 lead over Switzerland with straight set victories on the opening day of their Fed Cup World Group II play-off.
Australia's number one Stosur eased to a 6-1 6-2 victory over Swiss number two Amra Sadikovic, while Dokic was taken to a tiebreaker before dispatching Stephanie Voegele, 7-6(1) 6-4.
Stosur (31) and Dokic (71) were expected to win based on their superior WTA rankings with 19-year-olds Sadikovic listed at 507 and Voegele 120.
