Sheffield Wednesday defender Mark Beevers believes "there is no reason" why the Owls cannot be promotion contenders next season.The 18-year-old - who was voted the club's Player of the Year - enjoyed a stellar first season in the senior set-up despite the club battling relegation for much of the season, but he is adamant next year will be better.

"We can't go into next season thinking we are going to walk it - I think that made some of the problems going into this year," he told the club's official website.

"It has been tight in the Championship, the bottom team can beat the top team and I can't see it being different next season.

"We have got to take every game as it comes, we can beat every team in the division so there is no reason why we can't be going for promotion."
