Disley tips Pirates for success

Sun 25 May, 04:45 PM

Bristol Rovers midfielder Craig Disley believes continuity is the key to the club's continued success - and expects a good campaign next year.Rovers reached the FA Cup quarter-finals this season as well as finishing in mid-table in League One the year after their promotion via the play-offs.

Next season will be Disley's fifth with the Pirates and the former Mansfield man told the club's official website: "It's something I'm pleased with because nowadays football squads don't tend to be together for that long.

"However, the nucleus of this squad has been here since the days of Ian Atkins and I'm sure the fact we've been together for so long can only be good for the team.

"I'm sure also that there will be some quality additions in the summer and competition for a place in the squad will be even fiercer than it has been this season.

"It's what we need and, with a few good signings, I think next season will prove to be another good one for us."
