Perkins banned for play-off final

Sun 25 May, 05:00 PM

Rochdale boss Keith Hill will be without midfielder David Perkins for Monday's League Two play-off final against Stockport at Wembley.Perkins was sent off during the semi-final second leg against Darlington, which Dale went on to win 5-4 on penalties after the scores had been locked at 3-3 on aggregate.

Dale lost their appeal against his dismissal and as a result Perkins will begin a five-match ban by missing the Wembley showpiece.

Hill will also be without striker Lee Thorpe who is suffering from a dead leg and also broke his arm while arm-wrestling on the way to the first leg of the semi-final against Darlington.

Goalkeepers Sam Russell (broken finger) and James Spencer (hernia) also remain sidelined as Dale look to end a run of almost 40 years without a promotion.
