Turkey continued their preparations for Euro 2008 with a 3-2 friendly defeat to Uruguay in an entertaining encounter in Bochum.
Fatih Terim's team twice took the lead but were twice pegged back by Luiz Suarez goals before Christian Rodriguez earned the South Americans the victory.
Arda Turan set the Turks on their way after 13 minutes when he headed home Hamit Altintop's cross, but Suarez equalised from the spot 18 minutes later.
A curling free-kick from Villarreal striker Nihat Kahveci restored Turkey's advantage in the 51st minute but again Suarez got his team back on level terms 12 minutes from time.
Rodriguez then completed the turnaround for Uruguay with five minutes left on the clock when he converted another spot-kick.
Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan, who has been suffering with a throat problem, played no part in the game but did join up with his international colleagues on Sunday ahead of Wednesday's friendly against Norway.
Uruguay are preparing for the resumption of the World Cup qualifiers in June. They lie sixth in the American Qualifying Zone on four points from as many games - six points less than leaders Paraguay.
In the qualifiers, Uruguay play Venezuela on June 14 and Peru three days later.
Turkey, meanwhile, lost Gokhan Gonul from their Euro 2008 squad on Sunday when the defender admitted defeat in his race to be fit for the tournament.
The Fenerbahce right-back suffered a fractured metatarsal in his right foot and has now pulled out of Terim's provisional 27-man squad for next month's finals.
Turkey face Portugal, Czech Republic and Switzerland in Group A. Their warm-up friendlies conclude with a clash against Finland on Thursday.
