LONDON (AFP) - Burnley won promotion to the Premier League after beating 10-man Sheffield United 1-0 in Monday's Championship play-off final at Wembley.
The Clarets will play top-flight football for the first time in 33 years thanks to a superb first-half strike by Wade Elliott.
United, relegated from the Premier League in 2007, struggled to find top form and their fate was sealed when substitute Jamie Ward was sent off by referee Mike Dean in the closing minutes for two handballs in quick succession.

As a Clarets fan i am aware it is going to be a struggle next season mixing with the big boys but we will have Owen Coyle (hopefully) and believe me this guy can perform miracles. How many managers could have bettered his results, only having a squad of 23 players and 61 matches played including the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea.
Looking at the league table,I can see Reading placed above Burnley. Can someone explain to me why the match was not Reading against Sheiffield but Burnley
Dont be scared its hard
Another fine Scottish Manager - will he go to Celtic, now that Gordie has done a runner.
