Celtic defender Glenn Loovens has urged Gordon Strachan to continue as manager as he admitted the players had thrown the title away.
Celtic ended the Clydesdale Bank Premier League season with a goalless draw against Hearts - the third time in four games they had failed to score. The Hoops twice blew a lead over Rangers in the final month as their Old Firm rivals overturned a seven-point deficit to claim the title by four points.
But Loovens claims the players have to take responsibility for losing the championship. He said: "Changes? That's something to ask the manager. We'll see in the summer but the players feel the responsibility. At the end of the day we go on to the pitch and we have to do it."
The Dutchman added: "I hope Gordon Strachan stays because I like him as a manager.
"He's been here for four years and has done so well for the club.
"He was devastated after the game, we all were."
The former Cardiff defender added: "We're all so disappointed and angry we let ourselves down. It's not a great feeling.
"We threw away the title, that's how I feel. We were up front in the league all season yet gave it away in the last few games. We only have ourselves to blame."

The boys in blue are true.
Lafferty laughing all the way. Gers for the double.
C'mon the Gers. 4 in a row? hahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Paul G....well done m8 to you and your team ...had a good slagging match with you this season....will be back next season for more.....windae licker no more!!!!!!!
A Manager that lowers the squad age, lowers the debt to nil, wins 3 out of four leagues, reaches the last 16 twice....why not stay?
What a brave thing for Loovens to say,not the usual conspiracy @#$% from a shellic affiliate. He better board up his windaes,an watch out who's following him as we know the lengths the mhanks will go to against those who speak out. Liewell will have him over the coals for telling the truth.
Strachan MUST stay!
Loovens and Caldwell should be the partnership next year
