Kimi Raikkonen admits he is facing a baptism of fire at the Rally de Portugal this weekend.
The former Formula One world champion will be competing in his fifth event for the Citroen Junior Team.
The Finn finished fifth in his last appearance in Turkey but missed out on the last round in New Zealand and has never even competed in Portugal at the top level.
"It's fair to say that everything is completely new to me," said Raikkonen.
"I've been testing in France, but it's not the same as being in competition. The other drivers have been to New Zealand - which wasn't on my programme - and they also know the Rally of Portugal well, so it's not going to be easy.
"That doesn't really bother me though, as I am here to learn more than anything else.
"The final result at the end of the rally doesn't matter to me really: it's all about how much information I can take away for the future. We're just continuing our improvement step by step."
Portugal is the last of a cluster of five gravel rounds before the season switches to asphalt in July after the mid-season break.
The rally takes place in the hills above the town of Faro in the Algarve, blending fast open roads with more technical sections on hard and abrasive tracks.
