SPL - Rangers winger Libor Sionko has revealed that Walter Smith has only spoken to him once in six months and fears he may have to move on to resurrect his Czech Republic career.
Smith left the Scotland job to take over at Ibrox for a second spell in January.
"I've only spoken to him once in all of that time when I returned from national team duty after a friendly in Belgium," Sionko revealed to the Daily Record.
"He told me he had watched the game on television and that has been my only communication with the coach in six months."
Sionko denied that it was partly up to him to approach the manager.
"My opinion is that players shouldn't go and ask the coach why they don't play. There is nothing a player can do if the coach is not interested in communicating with them. If this continues I'd prefer to change clubs.
"If Mister Smith tells me he will give me a chance and he is counting on me then I will stay. However, he has not given me this assurance so it is better to switch clubs. I don't believe my situation at Rangers will become better.
"I know there has been interest from Paris St Germain, but that was in the winter. St Etienne? I don't know if that is still valid and there have only been hints so far from Toulouse.
"It would be dumb to wait for a happy ending with Rangers. I have to think of a way out."
Sionko was realistic about his chances of featuring on the international stage if he does not get the opportunity to pull on the royal blue of Gers.
"I still have ambitions to play for the national team. I cannot expect to play for the Czech Republic if I have not played for my club for six months.
"It's very important for me to play regularly at club level so I have a chance to be called up on international duty again."
