Marseille reach Ben Arfa agreement

Marseille have confirmed the signing of Hatem Ben Arfa from Lyon subject to a medical - paving the way for Samir Nasri's transfer to Arsenal.The French club have not revealed the length of the 21-year-old's contract nor the transfer fee but his arrival looks likely to mean compatriot Nasri will leave the Stade Velodrome and head for north London.

A statement on the club website read: "An agreement has been reached between Olympique Lyonnais and OM for the permanent transfer of Hatem Ben Arfa.

"The player will be in Marseille in the next few hours to undergo the traditional medical before signing his contract."

Reports in France suggest the 21-year-old will join OM on a four-year deal, and is seen as a replacement for fellow French youngster Nasri.

Marseille are understood to have been following Ben Arfa for some time, after the forward admitted to being unsettled at the end of last season due to the lack of first-team football at the Stade Gerland.

  4. Another Goof, Marseille are just pushing Nasri to Arsenal. If he was really that good Arsene would have signed him till now. Well Hleb is better than hope he stays in BPL and continue with his amazing PLAY.

  5. ben arfa should wear an arsenal's shirt.....he is skillfull n quicker than fabregas....wenger should exchange him with fabregas ....arsenal are like a ten man team when fabregas did not run like his team does.......
