Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg have a fight on their hands if they are to keep star striker Edin Dzeko from joining Milan.

Dzeko scored 26 goals as the Wolves pipped Bayern Munich to the German title, leading to interest from the Rossoneri, Manchester City and Arsenal.

The Gunners originally lined up a £12 million swoop for the Bosnian, but the interest of cash-rich City and the Rossoneri's £59m sale of Kaka to Real Madrid have seen the Bundesliga club hold out for significantly more, with managing director Juergen Marbach describing the player as "unsellable".

But Milan are desperate to get their man, with a £25m bid being prepared to test Wolfsburg's resolve.

"We are only looking for a forward, and our aim is Dzeko," Milan club administrator Adriano Galliani told the Italian media.

"He is a Wolfsburg player, and they have a right to keep him - even though he continues to claim that his desire is to come to Milan.

"From experience, I know it's difficult to keep a player whose wish is to leave.

"If we fail to get Dzeko then (Sevilla striker) Luis Fabiano could be an alternative - as could (Arsenal's Emmanuel) Adebayor."
