Championship - Ormerod re-signs at Blackpool

Blackpool striker Brett Ormerod signed a new 12-month contract to commit his future to the Bloomfield Road outfit.

Ormerod, 32, returned for a second spell with the Seasiders in January from Preston and scored twice in 15 appearances.

He has now agreed a new 12-month deal, with the option of a further season, and new boss Ian Holloway told the club's official website: "I am delighted that Brett has signed again."

He continued: "He was a key player in the side that did well for the club towards the end of last season.

"He wants to be here and is everything Blackpool stands for. He is one of the most hardworking players I have come across and his work rate was evident in the DVDs I have watched and scout reports I have seen.

"Everyone I have spoken to has nothing but praise for him and I can't wait to work with him and the rest of the squad."
