Premier League - City lead Tevez race

Eurosport - Thu, 25 Jun 10:07:00 2009

Carlos Tevez is considering offers from Manchester City, Chelsea and one other club, according to the player's adviser Kia Joorabchian.

FOOTBALL 2008-2009 Premier League Manchester United Carlos Tevez - 0

After Tevez decided not to renew his contract with Manchester United, Joorabchian commented the Argentinian's future will be defined in "about 10 days" and hinted City were in pole position to sign the player.

Joorabchian told Radio del Plata: "Right now we are evaluating the proposals from Manchester City, Chelsea and one other team. In the next two weeks, Carlos, Adrian (Rouco, Tevez's agent) and I will meet to sort this out."

He added: "City is a club with most of the chances because they are building a big squad, but it is not a decisive point.

"The contract with United officially runs to until June 31 and we'll respect that. After July 1, we'll see. We may be defined in 10 days."

Last weekend, Tevez turned down a lucrative five-year offer to stay at Old Trafford, with Joorabchian making clear it arrived too late.

He said: "Carlitos has never asked United for money, he has never complained about his contract. It is not a problem regarding money, but we never talked about that in two years.

"In two years, (United manager Sir Alex) Ferguson always said we were going to sit down to negotiate but we never did so. He sent an offer, but it was too late because they had not offered anything in two years."

  2. Only a bitter manure fan could say that Tevez won't be missed, especially when the leaders for his services are City, the only true Manchester club.

Pegez, I see you on here a lot and you are the archetypal bitter manure @#$%.

  3. You are a fool, Carlos. If you were upset by the fact that you played behind Rooney and Berbatov at United, what do you think is going to happen at City (Robinho and possibly Eto'o) or Chelsea (Anelka and/or Drogba/Pato)? Better get yourself a comfortable seat cushion because you won't be playing any more minutes with those sides than you did with United. Good luck.

Tevez is a muppet and a puppet of Kia - greedy @#$% 'owner'. A lot of teams tlak contracts with players after the season is finished so as to not make any distractions for the player or team. Thta is what United said they would do ('In two years, (United manager Sir Alex) Ferguson always said we were going to sit down to negotiate...') and thats what they did. whats the problem Tevez? Need a greasy Iranian to do your talking for you? Goodbye - you wont be missed as much as you think and take the grease-ball agent with you

  6. Man utd until now successfully managed to keep low level salary for their 1st team players. for ex. d.fletcher-great player - only a hardworking valuable player with low salary in m utd - he`s leader in scotland national team, so he can be in many other teams. carrick, brown,etc.etc. it doesn`t `pass by` anymore, as there`re teams that can pay real player values...sure, trophies are also important, but when u`ve already win everything u have to think about your future too, injuries can finish your career earlier than u planned as it has happened before many times.

  12. I hope Tevez has the season of his life next year, and scores a hat-trick against united, he worked his backside off for them and they treat him like absolute @#$%, they wasted 30-odd million on Berbaflop, money which could of bought Tevez, It's going to be tough times for United next term, Considering they are one of the richest clubs in the world they have massive problems competing for big name players. Benzema, for example, now currently on Real Madrid's radar, will no doubt be opting for Spain over England, and good luck to him, I cant wait for next season to se how Berbatov manages when he actually has to do some work, he cant just rely on Rooney being the workhorse now CR7 and Tevez have jumped the sinking red ship....

If Tevez goes to City it will be purely for greed - they are a mickey mouse club at present trying to build - good luck to them for the future - maybe in 3 years they will be challenging for the EPL. If Tevez "has a say" then it is obvious that the choice must surely be Chelsea if only for Champions League.
