Jurgen Van De Walle of Quick Step won the 62nd Halle-Ingooigem race in Belgium, completing the 198km course in four hours 43 minutes 30 seconds.
That gave the local rider a four-second advantage over second-placed Mitchell Docker, the Australian Skil-Shimano rider, while Docker's fellow Aussie Gene Bates (Drapac Porsche) finished third, a further ten seconds back.
The top three finished over two and a half-minutes clear of the chasing pack, which was lead home by Greg Van Avermaet.
Belgian cycling hero Tom Boonen - currently embroiled in controversy over a string of positive tests for cocaine - finished well down the field in 55th place.
