No Baggies approach for Jones

Thu 25 Jun, 11:18 AM

Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale has not been approached by West Brom for manager Dave Jones and expects him to still be in charge of the Welsh outfit next season.

Jones is one of the bookies' favourites to take over from Tony Mowbray at the Hawthorns after he swapped the West Midlands for Celtic last week.

But Ridsdale told BBC Sport Wales: "Dave Jones, as far as I'm concerned, seems to be very happy here."

He continued: "He tells me he is happy but if any employee, whether they are the manager or players, are unhappy I don't want to keep them. He will have to decide if and when the hypothetical question of him going somewhere arises.

"I've had no contact from West Brom or any other club. I don't expect Dave Jones to leave."

Darren Ferguson, Derek McInnes and Paul Ince, among others, are also in the frame to replace Mowbray.
