Marcus Bent hopes playing alongside new Birmingham team-mate Kevin Phillips this season will help hone his attacking prowess. The 30-year-old is vying to partner the evergreen Phillips after joining the Blues from Charlton.
Phillips, who turned 35 on Friday, scored 24 goals last term for West Brom and Bent is relishing the opportunity of working in close quarters with the former England international.
"Kevin did awesome last year," said Bent.
"I shouldn't say for his age, because he'd probably jump on me and strangle me!
"But he's very fit, he's experienced and he's been good. I'm sure I can learn a lot off him as well."
