Championship newcomers Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of young striker Joe Garner from Carlisle for a fee of £1.14million.The Reds have been chasing the 20-year-old former Blackburn forward throughout the summer and have now got their man after meeting a release clause in his contract.
Garner, who is expected to be out for three months after a knee ligament injury, was United's record signing last summer but is delighted to have moved to the Championship newcomers.
He told the club's official website: "I just can't wait to get out there. The stadium and the pitch look superb and everything I have seen of the Forest set-up looks top drawer.
"I've known about the transfer for several weeks and was very excited about the prospect of coming here.
"It's a fantastic move for me at this stage of my career and I am looking forward to getting out there and helping Forest try and get into the Premier League."
