Red Bull Renault completed 1742 kilometres in four days and five 18 hour days for the test team, all carried out in boiling hot weather.
It has been a tough but very productive time, with the large distances covered showing that reliability was good throughout.
After Sebastien Buemi and Mark Webber, it was David Coulthard’s turn to strap himself into the cockpit of RB4 for the final day.
While the programme earlier in the week included long term development and assessment of the 2009 slick tyres, Coulthard focused exclusively on the forthcoming races of this season, only running this year’s tyres to end up third quickest on the day with a best lap of 1:19.494s.
The testing ban now comes into force, which means the next outing for the test team takes place at the Monza circuit at the end of August.

all the young quick kids will if they are consistent, get their chance.d.c has been a brilliant driver-still is. a few years ago everyone said that ooooh, jensen button, is'nt he marvellous- i said it then and i still say it, bloody rubbish- a good driver helps to develope the car, button hasn't exactly improved anything he has driven has he,the trouble with youngsters is they have no patience, but an an abundance of cockiness- ok if you are good enough to get results in an uncompetitive car, most of them dont though do they? another under rated driver was martin brundle- guaranteed to get you points if he wasnt bundled off.he helped teams develope their cars by his expert understanding of the mechanics of the cars and also was another guy who if given the chance instead of being asked to ride shotgun all the time to protect team leaders favourites then would have a whole lot of wins. lay off the older drivers, they are the ones who know how to get the car home and usually in the points if some young impatient kid doesnt crash into them.
Why would a team keep a driver who doesn't seem to be able to drive? I don't want to be mean, but with all the young, quick kids out there, DC should have been shown the door several years ago. I'm sure he's a great guy, just not a good race car driver.
time to go boring old man.
