Sunderland have confirmed the signing of teenage midfielder David Meyler from Cork City.
The 19-year-old Irishman has put pen to paper on a three-year deal and could make his debut for the Black Cats against Cobh Ramblers in his home country on Monday.
Meyler follows former team-mate Roy O'Donovan from Turner's Cross to the Stadium of Light.

Paperboy, I am sorry but I cannot agree with your comment, come back Bob Murray, Oh my god thats like saying come back Tom Cowie and bring Lawrie Mcmemeney all is forgiven. No way Jose. Lets give the consortium a chance and Give them our support. Yes, I have been screaming for some big names and quality to bring to the team ,there is still plenty of time, but ,it doesn't help when teams like Villa come in the back door and try to steal your targets.
I don't think this is what we expected when we were promised 'big name signings'. Another Cork to bob around in the premiership barrel. We need some quality players with premiership experience, and I really don't think this lad fits the bill. RK asked the directors to show they shared his vision for the club, and it's ovious from their response that they do - as long as they don't have to fork out cash for it!
Come back Bob Murray, this lot are going to prove no better! At least we knew where we were with him. Nowhere!
meyler is unreaL HOPE HE MAKES IT ALL THE WAY
