King George weekend at Ascot got off to a barnstorming start as Good Again displayed plenty of tenacity to take the John Guest Maiden Fillies' Stakes.
Hayley Turner's mount ran green on her debut last month but, having come on a bundle for the experience, put her best foot forward to deny favourite-backers.
Turner gathered up her mount inside the final two furlongs and collared 11-8 market-leader Acquiesced by a neck.
Winning trainer Gerard Butler said of the 7-2 shot: "She is a nice filly and is tough as nails.
"I think I will keep her to six furlongs at the moment, but if she gets outpaced on her next start then I would step her up in trip.
"I have given her a bold entry in the Cheveley Park Stakes and we will see if she is up to that."
