David Wachman hopes to find out more about Bushranger as he steps up to the highest level for the first time in the Phoenix Stakes on Sunday.
The Danetime colt was beaten only half a length in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot and seemed to appreciate the step up to six furlongs when running out an impressive winner of the Anglesey Stakes last time.
He now faces his stiffest test to date against Art Connoisseur and Mastercraftsman and Wachman is keen to see how he fares.
"He seems to be in really good form so we decided we would let him take his chance," said Wachman.
"He was really impressive last time but it was only a fortnight ago and we haven't done an awful lot with him since.
"This does look a seriously hot race and time will tell if
he is up to this class."
