John Gosden's Pipedreamer takes a drop in class on Saturday as he bids for a first success of the season in the Sky Bet York Stakes.
Last season's Cambridgeshire hero has tackled Group 1 company on his last two starts but now drops to a Group 2 on the Knavesmire.
"He finished very strongly last time in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown but this is a smart Group 2," Gosden told Racing UK.
However, he is not particularly taken with the four year old's draw in stall 11.
"I don't like being so wide over 10 furlongs at York as you have to angle across quite early - so it is rather in the lap of the Gods.
"This race is a notch down for him but I do like the horse that won the Dee Stakes at Chester (Tajaaweed) - he also did well in the Derby at Epsom."
