Elphick hoping for home comforts

Mon 25 Aug, 03:45 PM

Brighton defender Tommy Elphick admits his side need to transport their impressive form on the road back to their Withdean Stadium home. The Seagulls have earned impressive wins away at Crewe and Southend so far this season, but stuttered to a 1-1 draw against Bristol Rovers at home while beating Barnet 4-0 in the Carling Cup in front of a small Withdean crowd.

"The [Leyton] Orient game [on Saturday] is very important for us because we haven't shown the majority of the fans what we can do," Elphick told the Argus.

"We didn't have a good crowd at home to Barnet in the Carling Cup. The people who were lucky enough to have seen that performance have seen what we can do, but there are 4,000 more who haven't.

"It's important we get our home record together and make Withdean a fortress again."
