Nottingham Forest have taken Brighton and Hove Albion's versatile defender Joel Lynch on loan.
The 20-year-old, who can play at centre-back or left-back, will spend an initial month-long spell at the City Ground, although Forest manager Colin Calderwood is confident he can extend the deal or even make it permanent.
Calderwood said: "He is a player we had an eye on for a while.
"Getting him here for a month gives us an opportunity to have a really good look at him."
Lynch, born just down the road in Eastbourne, graduated through the youth ranks at the Seagulls in 2004, and has gone on to make 95 appearances for the club, scoring two goals.
Brighton boss Micky Adams has also allowed striker Jonny Dixon to join Grays Athletic for a month and loaned youngster Sam Gargan to local side Lewes.
