Championship - Newcastle seal Harewood loan

Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood has completed his three-month loan move to Newcastle.

The 30-year-old, who will wear the number 10 shirt, arrived at the club's training headquarters on Friday morning to put pen to paper.

He will go straight into the squad for Saturday evening's Coca-Cola Championship clash with Ipswich at Portman Road.

The striker is well down the pecking order at Villa Park following his return from injury and manager Martin O'Neill has sanctioned a temporary spell away from Villa Park.

Newcastle are in need of an added attacking threat despite their fine start to the season, with Shola Ameobi currently sidelined with a foot injury.
