David Obua denied he cheated Hearts into the Co-operative Insurance Cup quarter-finals after some Dunfermline players accused him of playing for his side's winning penalty.
Obua went to ground under Neil McGregor's shoulder charge, prompting Brian Winter to blow for the 74th-minute spot-kick that Michael Stewart netted to give Hearts a 2-1 win. Several Dunfermline players surrounded Obua and angrily accused him of going down too easily but the Ugandan international claimed he had done nothing wrong.
"I felt the contact," Obua said. "I just felt the referee had to give one. We had two or three claims for a penalty. It was shoulder to shoulder. It wasn't as if I was trying to cheat because I felt contact."
