Controversial Hearts and Lithuania forward Saulius Mikoliunas has been handed a one-match ban after being sent off in a reserve match.

Mikoliunas has not featured for the Jambos since his infamous dive against Scotland in the 3-1 Euro 2008 qualifier at Hampden that saw him retrospectively banned for two international games.

But, after recovering from a hamstring strain suffered later on international duty, his comeback has been delayed further after he received his marching orders for two bookable offences in the reserve win over Falkirk, both for reacting to fouls.

"Mikoliunas will be suspended for this Saturday's match against Kilmarnock," an SFA spokesman declared. "He is a recognised first-team player and therefore automatically misses the next match, the same would apply to a recognised Under-19s player, he would miss the next Under-19s game.

"Mikoliunas and Calum Elliot will both be unavailable this weekend through suspension for Hearts."

The 24-year-old picked up his first yellow after he was fouled and was dismissed when he became involved in an argument following a tackle on team-mate Andrius Velicka.

"It's a shame for Miko but there's nothing we can do about it," Hearts assistant Stephen Frail admitted.

"He'll need to learn because there will be a lot worse when he plays in the first team. You can understand I'm a bit cynical about the attention he's getting."
