Carlo Ancelotti watched Chelsea thrash Blackburn 5-0 and then revealed he was returning to Italy to be with his sick father.
Ancelotti only arrived back in England on Saturday morning in order to take charge of his side's game against Rovers and labelled their five-goal super show as the "best performance" since he took charge at Stamford Bridge.
But the condition of 86-year-old father Giuseppe is still causing the Italian coach enough concern for him to return home on Sunday.
"It has been a difficult time but this is life," said Ancelotti. "I hope my father will be better in the next day.
"Sunday I have a free day and will go back to Italy and return on Monday but I think my father will be better. These are difficult days but after Monday I think he will be better and I can stay here without problems."
Speaking about the victory, Ancelotti said: "Chelsea played very well and it is not easy to play against us when we put great quality on the pitch. Blackburn did what they could. I liked this game very much. We played very well and it was a pleasure to see the team play like this."

Hope you father gets well soon Mr Ancelotti by his side is where you should be good luck sir.
Go on liverpool! beat the @#$% outta the manc scum and do chelsea a favour.
We need Ballack's selflessness. Lampard enjoys going forward. And Mikel is making too many mistakes. Ballack and Essien are both a vital part of the defensive side of our midfield. This season we have suffered defensively when Michael Ballack doesn't play. He is also brilliant attacking, and at set pieces on the rare occassion he gets a chance.
So to "lawmichelle", post #5, don't say "no Ballack", not if you're a true blue.
chelsea is very lucky to have sumbody like essien sum player welcum back j.cole gud game boys kip it up!!
Just hope liverpool plays a better game today unlike their game against chelsea.Let them watch the clip of their game against united last season, both of them!
Joe Cole brings a whole new dimension to Chelsea's game. He's so exciting.
Midfield : Malouda, Lampard, JoeCole, Essien.
Forwards: Drogba. Anelka
Back: Ivanovic, Terry, Carvarlho, Cole
No Deco or Ballack PLEASE!!!
hope your father gets well soon your a good manager and its not easy beating blackburn 5-0 as they play for a draw
That was a stunning performance by the blues and in the end the score could have been in double figures. Unfortunate for Blackburn to play Chelsea when they are in that sort of form. Super performance by Joe Cole great to see him do his stuff again.
best wishes mr ancelotti, i ghope you are reading this (lol)
