Alexander: We are getting better

Macclesfield manager Keith Alexander took the positives after seeing his side throw away a two-goal lead in the 2-2 draw with Dagenham.

The visitors were hit hard in the ninth minute when left-back Abu Ogogo was sent off for a thigh-high challenge on Hamza Bencherif.

Macclesfield then established a seemingly comfortable two-goal lead before Wesley Thomas handed Daggers a lifeline and Mark Arber levelled in stoppage time shortly after their opponents had also been reduced to 10 men.

Alexander said: "We've all been in the game long enough to know that if a referee has sent a man off and given a penalty to one side that he's going to try and even it up.

"But I'm not disappointed, I would have taken a draw before the game and I've got a young team that is getting better and better.

"As always, we've just got to stop conceding sloppy goals and take our chances when we get them."
