West Ham battled back to earn 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Upton Park.
The Gunners had looked in complete control following goals from Robin van Persie and William Gallas.
However, Carlton Cole pulled a goal back before substitute Alessandro Diamanti netted a late penalty.
West Ham finished with 10 men when Scott Parker was shown a second yellow card, but were not to be denied a much-needed positive result.
Arsenal took the lead on 16 minutes. Abou Diaby fed full-back Bacary Sagna on the overlap down the right. The French defender whipped the ball across the six-yard box, where Robert Green came to palm it away, only to collide with James Tomkins, leaving Van Persie free to slot into an empty net for his sixth goal of the season.
Upton Park was subdued, with the home fans starting to get restless before Arsenal doubled their lead on 37 minutes. Van Persie whipped the ball across towards the far post, where Gallas got up to thump a header past Parker on the line.
Diamanti then smashed the ball goalwards, which Vito Mannone pushed back to the six-yard box where Cole headed in.
The home fans were screaming for a penalty when Parker went down after running into Gallas, but the referee waved play on.
However, a spot-kick was given with 10 minutes left when Alex Song tripped Cole. After Mannone had been booked for not going back on his line, Diamanti levelled to send Upton Park into delirium.
West Ham were reduced to 10 men when Parker was shown a second yellow card for deliberately falling on the ball as Fabregas charged clear.

Having conceded a late goal against AZ Alkmaar in last week Champions League, one would have thought we 've leanrt a lesson but the 2 goal lead thrown away on Sunday against West Ham has shown that we cannot challenge for silverware this season.We still have a big problem in the defensive midfield position and attacking position. We need to strenghten these 2 positions if we are to fare well this season.
makes me laugh every1 all of a sudden starts slagging arsenal of again coz there young, we got same goal difference as chelsea 6 more than manchester united. lets slag of man city throwing a 2 goal lead away there meant 2 be the new superstars lol

After watching the Gunners today, it's all too apparent that they lack the maturity, ruthlessness and killer instinct that always is evident with Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool. Gunners fan for Life but you have to be realistic.

u guys act like arsenal lost today..... man u lost to burnley and people say they are going to win the title a point against west ham is obviously better than 0 points against burnley
I was really disappointed but in footbal it happens, wenger should have known he has to win at all cost so move closer to the top, that is how to win the title (by closing games), the defensive side of our game still needs to be attended to, pls restore the spanish guy, Manone still needs more experience
C'mon Arsenal, this is the time when Man U lost and Arsenal MUST win! But instead, u drew with what?!! West Ham?? For goodness sake, it's the Hammers and Arsenal should have won the game hands down man!! Arsene Wenger have failed to see who is good and what is good for the team at Upton Park. . . . Mannone is a great stopper, but he needs a good back four and I got doubts now abt Arsenal challenging for the title. *SIGH*. . . . What a weekend. . . . .
its a disgrace that arsenal keep losing and drawing games they were previously leading look at todays incident, we cant win the league playing like this because the likes of chelsea will distroy us with this weakness.
if we cant win games like this , tat too against a bottom ranked struggling team there is no chance for arsenal to challenge for the title.. sad :(
we were not ruthless enough today against the hammers. it was 4 the taking and we failed, games like this we need to finish them off
