Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has dismissed criticism of referee Stefano Farina for his role in the 2-2 Serie A draw at Torino.
Farina gave hosts Torino a late penalty after Kakha Kaladze handled Alessandro Rosina's cross, which was slammed by Kaladze and Rossoneri boss Carlo Ancelotti.
The Georgia defender was unlucky to be penalised as the ball spun into his arm after it caught him in the midriff, but Galliani insisted that the players were to blame for not closing out the win.
"Referees make mistakes, just like players, coaches and directors," Galliani said. "We can't make excuses for our boys and I don't want to comment on the disputed incidents.
"I think we could have closed out the game earlier because we had at least three gilt-edged chances to put the points beyond doubt, plus the potential penalty.
"I will reprimand the players, but I understand that sitting in the stands is different to being on the pitch."
Farina also waved away a penalty appeal from Ronaldinho, although Milan's first goal was controversial in that Clarence Seedorf was offside and moving towards goal when Alexandre Pato was played through.
A win would have put Milan one point behind Serie A leaders Internazionale, who beat Juventus 1-0 at the weekend.
